Hi! I’m Janani, and am currently a fourth year undergraduate student, double majoring in Data Science and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley. After exploring many different disciplines in my various internships, from frontend to backend to data science work, I have gained insight in how I want to combine my interest in being a programmer with my interest in working in the growing field of Data Science. I have gained so much knowledge and many skills from taking courses in both disciplines and would love to work as a software engineer, focusing on Machine Learning, as a full-time career after graduation next May. I truly enjoy the combination of analyzing data and making predictions by developing new models, and the process of actually writing the code to create these new models.

Apart from my coursework, I am a part of Data Science Society at Berkeley, where I was on the Academic Development Committee for two semesters and am now a Senior Advisor. I am also on Cal’s co-ed competitive Indian classical dance team, Natya at Berkeley, and enjoy dancing and competing nationally with my amazing team. I also love watching TV and movies, listening to music, spending time with friends, meeting new people, and learning as many new skills as possible!
